2 / 5 / 10 -- Quick Update, Please Read
I won't be on for a little while. Be back around February 12th. Sorry for the unexpected hiatus! I will be working on the new layout and new graphics while I'm gone. I will try and get back in touch as soon as possible. Once again, I apologize. Have fun, you guys. :D

1 / 9 / 10 ~ Snow, Snow, Snow ~♪
It's snowing! For the third time this winter. I looked out the door last night, and my yard was pure white. However, it was dotted with little animal prints - making little figure eights, climbing up the hill, dragging slightly. They're not cat prints, though. My cats hate the snow (it might be because they have a slight grudge. They're usually dusty and dirty, and so can't blend in the one time of the year their white coats can be camouflaged).
Let's see, it started snowing about three days ago. The snowflakes are huge! About as big as the "S" in the blog title. It looks kind of like a pile of salt, because you can see the edges so well. I hope the Eastern Coast isn't stuck in the Perpetual Loop of Pretty Snowfall. I've read a few recent blogs of people who have had snow for a few days now. Ah, snow. How many of you have seen snow? Snow is such a little thing, and then you realize there a quite a few people who don't get snow. It really makes you appreciate it! One of the saddest things I've seen is a pile of snow slush. The snow melts and the water seeps into the ground, and makes everything all muddy. Then, the mud gets stuck all over the snow that hasn't melted. That's why today I'm going to go outside and play in it, before another possible snow memory melts away. I'm going to look around for something that can be used as a sled. :D
Actually, even though snow can be wonderful, it does have a dark side. The ice from the weather can make it dangerous to be on the road, and can weigh down trees, causing them to crash down onto electric lines and telephone wires. I remember, back in December '08 and January '09, Kentucky had a huge ice storm (I bet even a few other states reported this in the news!). Roads were covered in ice, and I remember driving into town after they had salt on them. Everything was covered. You could look out your window and every mile you would see a tree with ice dangling from the branches, the trunk splintered as the tree tilted over onto a wire. I had read that all of the state's National Guard had been called in to help, and the same article said that it was the worst natural disaster the state had ever seen. About 255,000 people statewide were without power. Worse still, the cold and ice made pipes brittle, and several broke. People had carbon monoxide leaks in their homes, and muck coming out of their water faucets. To add to the emotional toll of the problem many people here faced, several web news articles had people commenting about how "the state deserved it". These comments were based on the fact that the state is mostly Republican (however, the governor is Democratic) and how other states suffered during the storm. This makes me mad - yes, Republicans and Democrats have different views. But, we shouldn't be at war like that, though, especially when a crisis where most of the U.S. is suffering power outages. A lot of families (not just here, either!) couldn't leave to get food, couldn't cook the food they did have for lack of electricity or a place for a fire, and were cut from all contact they could get help from. I am glad that my family and I were lucky enough not to be suffering much during this. All in all, I hope this doesn't happen again this year, anywhere. No one deserves to be caught in an icestorm like that.
Sorry about the really long rant, everyone. It wasn't planned. School was canceled all week, and since break started my sleeping schedule has been messed up. My brain needs to get some exercise, because I don't know when school will start back up and I need a challenge. Cross your fingers I can get back to a regular schedule.
Did anyone notice how the grammar on a lot of pages was fixed? Hehehe. Oh, and I'm thinking about making a section for my writings, like rants like this, other articles, and creative writing. Opinions? Eventually, I may just create a personal site / portfolio and make it the main site, with all my graphics moved there. That, or make the personal site and maintain both sites. Any opinions on that? I prefer the second action, though it would take a lot of work. I don't think I could give up my first website. <3
Thanks for reading,

1 / 6 / 10 ~ Happy New Year!
Happy New Years to everyone! I changed Sageleaf’s link, added Warriors Fantasy, and am waiting for Winter to check back. No new graphics as of yet, but there will be soon.
Along with… dun dun dun!
Our new spring layout! I’m not giving away any special info (except to you subscribers!) except for the fact that the theme is spring and the version inspiration was from another Rob Thomas song. Yay for Rob Thomas!
While under the layout renovation, the main coding will be renovated as well. I am going to attempt to get full validated coding. Validated coding is extremely important when it comes to a website that is a fansite. If the coding isn’t valid, people using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and other web browsers could see the site as it should be or extremely warped. After the validation, I’m going to have to do a spell check. And when I’m done revamping, I’m thinking of applying for a review at Heartdrops.org. Sound good?
I got a bunch of Christmas greetings from my affiliates. Thank you guys! I’ve put them up already. :) I also won Summerwind Warrior’s layout contest, and received SotM and this award. My entry can be viewed here. Thank you, Aspenfrost and Seasonstar! Oooh, and I won the county / district water conservation writing contest! (couldn’t remember which, lol xD) I finished reading the most recent Warriors book: The Fourth Apprentice. I think the new series seems promising. :) By the way, I can see my bedroom floor. So, soon (meaning a few months) I should be getting DSL and a new computer, making a faster running computer, meaning I can start trying out FTP and can work on PPiS anytime. :D
Thank you for taking your time to read. See you next time!

11 / 30 / 09 ~ Hi!
Long time, no see, people. :)
Lately, I’ve been in a lot of competitions. You guys might know I’m on my school’s academic team. I took tests in Language Arts and Arts and Humanities (weird coincidence… they’re both art related). I placed first in both, bringing home two first place trophies. I mean, first place out of like 30 or 40 different kids competing in the same thing. (o3o) I mean, how cool is that? I hate how they call you up backwards, though. It makes you doubt yourself, until they call your name. Ugh.
Do you guys remember the last update, where I was talking about the article competition? Yeah, well, good news and bad news. I placed top three, but so did two of my friends, one of them including Icy (you, yeah, you. >< lol). So, one of us gets 50 bucks. Eek. I’d like for one of them to win, but I also want to win. So, yeah, eeeek.
At our school, we had a competition for our school logo during our art class, and it had to follow the theme of rocks (ex., CAVEMAN) or rock n’ roll. The final decision was really close. I won, by a hair. I get a free t-shirt with my design on it (soon). I must say, though, I’m proud of myself that I’ve been able to accomplish things like that. Especially since artistic stuff is right down my alley.
I might go with two of my friends on Friday to see New Moon. I really am dying to see it, though. I’m Team Jacob. I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle the theater, all packed up with obsessive fan girl screams and crying. Seriously, though. It’s just Twilight. No need to cry. O.o The sad part is, I’ll probably be completely done with Twilight once the last movie comes out. It’s one of those books where you love it, you read it again, and you only like it. …Or am I the only person who does that? Huh.
In other news, I want to start this huge art project. I’m going to try and draw five animals from each continent as realistically and detailed as possible. Anyone know an amphibian that lives in Australia or another one in Asia? Heheheh. Anyways, the link to the list is here. If you have any ideas for a space that’s not filled, feel free to give me an idea. Oh, before I forget…
- Requests are closed, at least until I finish my last request.

10 / 13 / 09 ~ Some Update-itty-dates :)
Heyyyy! An update! Whoo-hoo! xD
Yeah, I know, long time no see. So, here's some new siggies for ya. :)

Also, we have one new affie - Stars and Whiskers Graphics! We also got a lovely award from Rainy at Warriors-Song. I'm sending out a big thank you to Rainy for it! Click here to view the award! I also received two layout requests, which, reluctantly, may have to be postponed due to problems. In other site news, Birchi has resigned from her staff post, understandably. We'll miss you though, Birchi! On to life-related. Heh, heh.
Heh! I knew it. I can now check out books again. (^3^) Right now I am seriously veering off course of the Lemony Snicket series (they don't have book 10. >.>) and am reading this absolutely amazing book called "A Great and Terrible Beauty", a wonderful novel set in Victorian England. Check it if you get the chance! Also, my new game is coming out. Yeah, I know, I'm gettin' too old for video games. But I love playing them anyway. The one I'm waiting for is "Kingdom Hearts: Three-five-eight Days Over Two". Because I'm a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series. And SOMEONE keeps trying to get me to play it slash tell me all about it before I get it as a Christmas gift. Grr. Lulz. Even more off-topic-er, in my English class we have to write an extremely (well, not really) long article on conserving water.
- First place in class: 15$
- First place out of the whole counties schools: 50$
- First place out of the district: 250$
- I like lists.
Though, technically I don't need it. My friend Julie is shootin' for the win, too, though. (guilt, guilt, guilt) Well, I'll update later, hopefully. I have to get to some article revising and some layout-request planning. o3o Bye!
Some last requests: Any ideas for a color scheme? I would love to hear from you in the CBox!

8 / 10 / 09 ~ Graphics and Grumbles
Yesh, we has teh new graphics! :)

Okay, so today we have library day. I walk through the aisles of shelves, pick out two books from the series I’m reading (Which is Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, by the way. It’s turning out to be really good.. I carry them up to the desk after I grab them, and the librarian says “Sorry, hun. You have… Twice Upon A Marigold checked out.”
Hunh?
Now, I will tell you, I distinctly remember turning that book back in the last day of school. I walked into the library that morning, pulled the book out of my purse, and dropped it into the return bin, because she wasn’t there. So, you tell me. Do we have a problem here? Do we have a checked out book? No. No, we don’t. I can guarantee you, if I were to look for the author’s last name (Jean Farris, I believe) on the “F” bookshelf, I would find it. And If I didn’t, which I know I’ll find it though, I’m not paying for the book because I turned it in. So, tomorrow morning, I’m going into the library to look for the book, and taking it up to the librarian. So, nyah. Tell me I didn’t turn in a book, because my mom made sure we turned in our library books last year. And, if I hadn’t, I know exactly what purse it would be in. And guess what? It’s not there. So, yes, today I was unable to check out any books. Blech. Yes, I was mad until about fourth period.
Anyway, this school year has been pretty good otherwise. All of my new outfits have been luffed, as well as my new haircut.
So, thanks for listening to my grumbles (sorry if I sound snooty, I'm not. Just upset ><), looking at the graphics, and getting me to number four on SPWarriors Topsites and number three on WW Topsites! :D
So, now, I bid you adieu. I think I’ll go all Southern-Teenager and shoot things with my full-auto BB Gun to be less angry.

8 / 3 / 09 ~ Version VIII!
Yep! Our new layout ended up being red, black, and cream. Kind of a weird color combination, I know, but I still think it's pretty. Especially the header. The cats in the background are from Code of the Clans, which I still have yet to read. Grawr. xD Also, yes, I used another Rob Thomas song for the theme. x3 And for future reference, the navigation is now at the top. I had the urge to try something different for once. In other site related news, I added the Naturegirl Studios link up, but it wonked out on my, so I've gotta go fix that soon. Just thought I'd tell you, so that you'd know that your link was up. :)
Okay, I thought about adding a commenting system. I looked at the flat press thing on another of my websites. It freaked me out, and I was certain I wouldn't be able to use it (I'll probably go back and look at it later, though. x3). Then, I looked at haloscan, and saw that they used JS. No. Nu-uh. That would make my coding even less valid than it is now. (except for my CSS! Heh, heh, heh.) Yes, I know my coding should be valid. But it won't ever be until I get rid of my vote buttons and cbox, and that's millions of years away. Yes, I'm addicted to both. Shame on me. x3 But just because my coding is invalid doesn't mean I can't code valid websites. Right before I put up the layout, I save it as "V_scheme.htm". It's perfectly coded when I paste it into the validator. Then when I come to put it on my actual webpages, it's filled with unvalidated content. Yuck. Eventually, though, I'll get fed up with the messiness and revamp every page.
Eventually. x3
Oh, you'll also notice that all the updates are gone! I saved them to my file manager. Hee hee. x3
Anyway, tomorrow is my last day of vacation. I probably won't update until next weekend, or after my first day of school to rant. You can probably still talk to me in the Cbox and send me e-mails, though. So, bye for now, everyone! ;)
